The Process Involved in the Extraction and Purification of DNA.
Deoxyribonucleic Acid, commonly referred to as DNA, is the molecule found in everything termed as living. The third step involves adding at least a single spoonful of the liquid dishwashing detergent on top of the solution. Again stir the mixture slowly for about five minutes. In the next procedure; add a pinch of the meat tenderizer on the mixture then stir for another five minutes. Drizzle some alcohol above the solution after stirring. Consider adding the alcohol until you obtain a layer of three inches on the split peas solution. Peas are mostly preferred during DNA extractions as they contain this molecule. During the process, the detergent is simply used to break down the membrane cell hence releasing the cell content and the meat tenderizer is used to dissolve the membrane nuclear for it to release the DNA inside it. The alcohol is used in the process to bring out the DNA strands.
